Our Mission Statement:
To assist and encourage seniors to
take control of their own lives. |
Agassiz-Harrison Senior Peer Counselling
has assisted over 30 clients since the program's inception in 2002.
Our volunteers provide emotional support to their peers who are
experiencing difficulties with age-related losses.
Older persons, even
those most skeptical about accepting any type of supportive services,
are often more likely to accept support help from a person, who has
similar life experience and a common language.
Clients report stronger
coping skills, increased self-confidence, and greater involvement in
community leadership roles.
